Miracle Baby Kate

I had the pleasure of photographing a friend's beautiful baby girl this past week. Kate is truly a miracle!! She was born at 24 weeks & 2 days (roughly 16 weeks early). At birth, Kate weighed 1 pound and 7 ounces and was 12 inches long. She had a rough start in the life and stayed in the hospital for 115 days.

To look at her now, you would never guess how her life began. She is 9.5 pounds at five months old and has filled out to a very healthy looking baby!

Because of her age and size, we weren't able to get some of the cute newborn poses, but I guess that her proud parents (& big brothers) will love and treasure these photos. Just look how far she has come!!

This baby girl is so loved!

You just have to love that little tummy!!!

Here's a photo of Kate in her first few days of life. To put her size in perspective, the hat she has on fit in the palm of my hand...and my hands are small! What a blessing and a true miracle she is!
